An interfaith chapel is open 24 hours a day and is home to services on Sundays. They have also compiled information on dealing with trauma, grief and bereavement Communication with persons who are deaf or hard of hearingYale-New Haven Hospital provides interpreting services and/or special equipment, to our deaf or hard of hearing patients (and their companions). These provisions are free of charge. Staff will request communication aids and services as soon as the need for such services is determined. The hospital has a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Coordinator on staff during regular business hours. Additionally, we employ the services of outside agencies to provide both in-person and video remote interpreters. TTYs, assistive listening devices, volume-controlled telephones and pictographs are also available. For more information about these services, please call (203) 688-8159, TTY or E-mail. Interpreter servicesYale-New Haven Hospital believes that all patients and their families deserve clear and accurate communication about their health care. Interpreter services are available 24 hours a day for anyone needing communication assistance. To help ensure a smooth hospital stay, please let your doctor and admitting account representative know in advance about your communication needs. If you need an interpreter while in the Hospital, please inform your patient care provider.
