10th Annual Women's Health Conference on March 4
Guilford's Women & Family Life Center, in partnership with State Comptroller Nancy Wyman, a leading advocate for women's health, will host its 10th Annual Women's Health Conference at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale on Sunday, March 4. MDA Muscle Walk on March 4
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the nation's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to funding neuromuscular research, health care services and education. Hospital moves ahead with ambulatory health center in North Haven
Yale-New Haven Hospital will move ahead with plans to develop an outpatient center in the former AT&T building at 6 Devine St. in North Haven. YNHH will purchase and remodel the 120,000-square-foot, four-story building for a comprehensive ambulatory care program, including a walk-in/primary care center, an outpatient Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center and an Inflammatory Disease Center for patients with multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and related disorders. The facility will offer onsite MRI and digital X-ray imaging, as well as laboratory and blood-draw services. It is expected to be open Jan. 1, 2013.
Heart health lecture on March 15
The Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary kicks off its spring health education lecture series with "Your Heart: Cardiology 2012" on Thursday, March 15. Join Lawrence S. Cohen, MD, attending physician, Yale-New Haven Hospital, for a discussion on various heart-related conditions, including valvular heart disease, hypertension, congestive heart failure and coronary artery disease, as well as symptoms of and innovative treatments for these conditions.
