Lecture addresses connection between sleep disorders and aging

Stress can affect normal sleep cycles and trigger sleep disorders such as insomnia or sleep apnea. As we get older, the chance of developing a sleep disorder increases, which can raise the risk for developing hypertension, depression and heart disease. Pulmonologist Roger Elias, MD, director of Yale-New Haven Hospital's Sleep Health Program, will take a closer look at the topic when he discusses, "Sleep Disorders and Aging," Tuesday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to noon in the Cronin Auditorium on the Saint Raphael Campus, 1450 Chapel St., New Haven.
