Auxiliary annual meeting
Yale-New Haven Hospital Chief of Staff Peter Herbert, MD, will be the keynote speaker for the 59th annual meeting of the YNHH Auxiliary on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Amarante’s Sea Cliff Inn in New Haven. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting opens at 6:30 p.m. The cost for the dinner is $30. Guests are also asked to consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Toy Closet Program. Sleep As We Grow Older
Yale-New Haven Hospital will offer a free health lecture on the common causes of sleep problems in older adults, at Evergreen Woods in North Branford. 20th Annual Sickle Cell Walkathon on Sept. 17
Yale-New Haven Hospital will sponsor the 20th annual walkathon for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Southern Connecticut Inc. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the East Rock Park on Cold Springs Road in New Haven. Yale-New Haven Hospital is proud to support the 7th Annual Walk for Lupus Now on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Lighthouse Point Park in Hamden. Yale-New Haven Hospital is participating in a national clinical trial evaluating a minimally invasive procedure as a treatment alternative to open heart surgery for patients with severe aortic stenosis, a common heart problem caused by an abnormal narrowing of the aortic valve. Alzheimer's Memory Walk on Oct. 2
On Sunday, Oct. 2, Yale-New Haven Hospital will once again support the local Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's — the largest national awareness and fund-raising event for Alzheimer care, support and research.
