Noninvasive Gamma Knife treats head and skull base disorders
The Gamma Knife Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital is the only Gamma
Knife facility in Connecticut dedicated to treating head and skull base disorders
with high-intensity external radiation.Using highly focused gamma
rays, Gamma Knife allows surgeons to precisely target and treat abnormal
areas of the brain without making an incision. Patients experience minimal
pain and, in most cases, can resume regular activities soon after treatment.
It is one of the most advanced techniques in the treatment of disorders
affecting the brain, including benign and malignant brain tumors, head and
neck tumors, vascular malformations of the brain and trigeminal neuralgia.
