YNHH holds blood drive Tuesday, July 30

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Tuesday, July 30, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., 2nd floor auditorium at 55 Park Street. The last 15 minutes of each hour will be kept open for walk-in donors.

Saint Raphael transfer line incorporated into YAccess

YAccess, Yale-New Haven’s single-source phone center exclusively for physicians, will now coordinate all transfers from other healthcare facilities and emergent direct admissions to either YNHH campus. This change further integrates safe patient flow practices on both campuses and simplifies the process for physicians.

The integration of the Saint Raphael transfer line with YAccess was effective July 1.

The YAccess Transfer Center, which opened in August 2010, has dramatically simplified the transfer process to YNHH. YAccess operates 24/7 and is staffed by clinicians who are responsible for facilitating arrangements for patient transfers and emergent direct admissions. The YAccess phone is 888-966-4233 (888-YNHH-BED). Victor Morris, MD, vice president, Physician/ Patient Access Services, 688-4748, or Tamrah Riley, RN, director, PFAS Access and Clinical Bed Management, 688-2218, will answer any questions.

Employees may place donations in drop boxes located on both campuses or call school supply drive co-chairs Sonia Nobrega, manager, Clinical Registration, 688-2054, or Ann Amaturo, coder/biller, Radiation Therapy, 200- 2155, on the York Street Campus, or Lynda Pasquarella, executive secretary, Administration, 789-4329, on the Saint Raphael Campus, to arrange a pick-up of supplies. The school supply drive runs through Friday, August 30.

This change will save paper and time and streamline the portfolio review process.

For complete details, nurses should visit nursing.ynhh.org, and click RCAP to go to the RCAP website.
