Tina Washington promoted to senior manager, Patient Transport Department
Tina Washington has been promoted to senior manager of the Patient Transport Department on both campuses. Washington began her career at YNHH in 2005 as a supervisor in Food Services. In 2007, she was promoted to supervisor of Environmental Services, and in 2008 became a manager in Environmental Services. In 2011, she was promoted to manager of Patient Transport. Washington is a member of the Safe Patient Flow Steering and the Transforming Patient Care committees. Washington earned her BS in communications from Southern Connecticut State University and her master's degree in public administration healthcare management from the University of New Haven.
David M. Greer, MD, named director of Stroke Service, YNHH
David M. Greer, MD, vice chairman of Neurology, has been named director of the Stroke Service at Yale-New Haven Hospital. In this new position, Dr. Greer is responsible for the clinical, educational and research endeavors of the Stroke Service, in emergency, inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Greer expects to establish a dedicated inpatient stroke unit, and expand outpatient services. He will also expand Telestroke Program connections with other hospitals in the region. Dr. Greer serves as residency program director and director of medical studies for the Department of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine. He joined YNHH in 2010 from Massachusetts General Hospital, where he completed his residency, and then underwent specialized fellowship training in vascular neurology and neurocritical care. He earned his MA in English literature, as well as his MD, from the University of Florida.
Joseph Schindler, MD, continues to serve as the director of the Acute Stroke Service, Karin Nystrom, APRN, as the clinical coordinator, and Anne Froelich, RN, as stroke coordinator, Saint Raphael Campus.
