Outpatient cancer care at Yale-New HavenMore than ever before, Yale-New Haven cancer patients can be treated on an outpatient basis. New medications and procedures allow patients to receive treatment at the hospital, then return to home or work. Medical oncology Hours Inpatient cancer careIf you need to be hospitalized, you will be admitted to a medical/surgical floor or a unit that specializes in treating cancer patients. West Pavilion 8: This specialized unit for Medical Oncology patients has 36 beds; some beds are designated for bone marrow transplant patients. Family members may stay overnight with most patients. Lounges for patients and families are also available. West Pavillion 9: This 36-bed unit specializes in treating women. Nurses and other staff are especially aware of the needs of women with cancer. During your stay, you will be cared for by an experienced team of cancer professionals. If, at any time, you or family members have questions, please ask.
