echocardiograms

Yale-New Haven Hospital Heart and Vascular Center’s Echocardiography Laboratory provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including three-dimensional transthoracic and transesophageal studies. Echocardiograms are acquired on seven state-of-the art digital cardiac ultrasound machines by more than 15 certified sonographers. They are transmitted electronically to a digital archive, enabling rapid review by six board-certified cardiologists and comparison with images from prior studies dating back more than eight years. The adult echocardiography service performs more than 9,000 transthoracic and 450 transesophageal examinations per year.
