Noninvasive Vascular Imaging
Non-invasive vascular imaging at Yale-New Haven Hospital is performed in a dedicated vascular ultrasound laboratory that is integrated with the outpatient vascular surgery clinic. Duplex and color Doppler ultrasound are used to understand complex anatomic and functional relationships within the circulatory system. A dedicated sonographer and radiologist provide individualized attention on a case-by-case basis. Vascular diagnosis and treatment planning is done in collaboration with the vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists.
State-of-the-art CT angiography and MR angiography services complement Yale-New Haven’s vascular ultrasound program. Vascular imaging specialists who are trained in both imaging modalities tailor each examination to the specific test and technique that will assess the patient’s vascular problem to the best advantage. Moreover, these physicians supervise the technical performance of the examination and perform timely and accurate interpretive services.
