As the largest provider of heart and vascular services in the state, Yale-New Haven Heart and Vascular Center (YNHVC) is dedicated to the human heart and vascualr system in all of its complexities. YNHVC offers a comprehensive array of clinical cardiovascular services and facilities — adult and pediatric cardiac operating rooms; catheterization laboratories; rhythm management facilities; advanced imaging services including nuclear, CT and MRI; and a Chest Pain Center.

Heart disease specialists at Yale-New Haven Heart and Vascular Center have been leaders in developing new cardiac diagnostic tools and treatment methods. Since the early 1940s and ’50s, when cardiology began to emerge as the first real subspecialty within internal medicine and open heart surgery first became possible, Yale-New Haven Heart and Vascular Center has been at the forefront of cardiac clinical care, research and technology.

Virtually all cardiac procedures currently available worldwide are performed at YNHHVC. Yale-New Haven Heart and Vascular Center’s cardiac services are consistently listed among the best in the nation by U.S. News and World Report and are regularly recognized among the top 100 U.S. hospitals for cardiac care in national studies conducted by Thomson Reuters.

Yale-New Haven Heart and Vascular Center physicians are known for their diagnostic and treatment skills and success in performing the most delicate and technically demanding procedures. These physicians have been recognized time and again for their outstanding achievements in the treatment of high-risk cardiac patients, their use of state-of-the-art techniques and their cutting-edge clinical research.
