Overview
Members are men and women from all walks of life who participate in Auxiliary activities, attend lectures or simply lend their support through annual membership dues. The Auxiliary always welcomes new members.

The idea of making contributions of time, ideas and effort has been at the core of the Auxiliary since its inception. In that time, the Auxiliary has donated millions of dollars towards hospital programs, services and health education in the community. Major contributions to the hospital have included a digital mammography van, a hand-held mammotome, a stem cell pheresis blood warmer and most recently, a pledge of $500,000 to Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven.
What we do
Health education
The Auxiliary sponsors a series of lectures on health issues given by noted Yale-New Haven Hospital healthcare professionals. Members work to coordinate and staff these events. Atrium Gift Shop
The Atrium Gift Shop, adjacent to the atrium near the York Street entrance, is the Auxiliary's major fundraising source. Members often volunteer in many capacities under the guidance of a professional manager.
In addition to flowers, candy and jewelry, the Atrium Gift Shop offers clothes, toiletries, snacks, cards, balloons and assorted gift items. Flower delivery to patient rooms may also be requested. Outside delivery may be requested for a small fee. Phone orders and all major credit cards are accepted.

Toy Closet Program
The Auxiliary's Toy Closet Program, founded in 1993 by WTNH News 8 anchorwoman Ann Nyberg, solicits new toy donations and raises money year-round to keep the Toy Closets at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital well stocked. Learn more about the Toy Closet Program.

Auxiliary Newsletter
The Auxiliary Atrium newsletter is the official publication of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary.
Why join?
Auxiliary members can be as active as they like. Some simply receive the Yale-New Haven Hospital Bulletin and Auxiliary newsletter, while others attend meetings, events and lectures, or take part in the programs and events listed above. Members are encouraged to volunteer on a schedule that accommodates their busy lives.
