Career Development

Yale-New Haven Hospital, in cooperation with area schools, offers a variety of programs aimed at improving the classroom experience and exposing young scholars to opportunities in health-related fields. 

Financial Assistance Programs 

  • Free care, sliding scale and other financial assistance to uninsured or underinsured patients who cannot afford to pay for medical care
  • Medicaid and Husky enrollment

Interpreter & Translation Services

  • Provides interpretation and translation services for patients and family members with limited English-language proficiency or who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Social Work Program

Yale-New Haven Hospital's social work services assists individuals and families by helping them face medical-related problems; and provides brief counseling for emotional issues and parents' concerns.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides nutrition counseling, breastfeeding education and vouchers for food and infant formula to pregnant women, post-partum women, infants and children up to age 5.

Wellness Information Network (WIN)

Wellness Information Network (WIN) is a program that helps people who have no health insurance get the care they need. Also, it helps people obtain doctors visits, tests and care for long-term illnesses.
