Prescription Assistance (340 B) Program

At Yale-New Haven Hospital, we believe in helping people afford the medication they need to stay healthy.

Prescription Assistance (340B) Program

We offer a Prescription Assistance Program, also known as 340B, designed to help Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) patients who have little or no health insurance or no pharmacy benefits.
This program, which is only available at Walgreens at 53 Park Street in New Haven, offers qualifying YNHH patients a discount on their prescription medications. The discount varies for each prescription; and the biggest discounts are for generic drugs.

This discount program is only for qualifying YNHH patients on prescriptions written or called in by YNHH providers. However, all patients can have their prescriptions filled at Walgreens. The discount may also apply to some over-the-counter medications if a YNHH provider prescribes them. In addition, the discount may apply to some asthma and diabetes supplies, if the prescription was written by a YNHH provider.
For more information about the YNHH Prescription Assistance Program, please speak with your doctor, nurse or social worker.
