Directions via:
I-95 traveling north or south
Exit 47 to Route 34 west to Exit 3. Follow N. Frontage Road and turn left onto Park Street. Veer left onto Howard Avenue. The main entrance is immediately to the left.

I-91 traveling south
Exit 1 to Route 34 west to Exit 3. Follow N. Frontage Road and turn left onto Park Street. Veer left onto Howard Avenue. The main entrance is immediately to the left.

Wilbur Cross Parkway (Rte. 15) traveling south
Exit 59 immediately after tunnel. Right at end of ramp. Merge left onto Whalley Avenue at light. Stay on Whalley until you see signs for Yale-New Haven at Park Street. Follow signs to Children's Hospital entrance at Park Street and Howard Avenue.

Merritt Parkway (Rte. 15) traveling north
Exit 57 to Route 34 east into New Haven. Right onto Ella T. Grasso Boulevard (Rte. 10) and left onto South Frontage Road. Follow hospital and Rte. 34 signs. Turn right onto Howard Avenue to the entrance of the Children's Hospital.

Route 1 (Boston Post Road) traveling east
After crossing Ella T. Grasso Boulevard (Rte. 10), turn left onto Davenport Avenue. At Howard Avenue, turn left and main entrance to Children's Hospital is on the right.

Best parking:
Visitors to the Children's Hospital may park 24 hours a day in the Air Rights Garage above York Street. Hourly, half-day, daily and monthly rates are available. Special parking spaces for disabled visitors are located next to the elevators on each parking level. The garage is monitored by Yale-New Haven Hospital Security Services. A covered pedestrian bridge connects the second floor of the garage to the 20 York Street entrance of the hospital. Also see the special notes below on the valet parking service, and on the special underground parking lot for the Children's Hospital.

Valet Parking
Special valet parking is available for pediatric patients between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. for the following:

  • Pre-admission visits ($8)
  • Same day admissions ($8)
  • Ambulatory surgery (Free)
  • Diagnostic imaging interventional procedures ($8)
  • Maternity patients for delivery (free)
  • Handicap patients with state permit ($8)

Those who wish to take advantage of valet parking will be greeted at the Children's Hospital entrance by a valet captain who will accept payment (if any is required), assist you into the Children's Hospital and have your car parked in the Children's Hospital underground garage. When you are ready to leave, simply call the valet captain (688-6071) with your claim check number. Your car will be returned to the entrance.

Attendant Parking Service
The parking garage under the Children's Hospital (entrance on York near Howard Ave.) may be used by families with appointments in:

  • Pediatric Specialty Center
  • Pediatric Diagnostic Imaging
  • Pediatric Rehabilitation

Upon entering the garage (Lot 3), an attendant will collect a flat fee of $7. Other Children's Hospital visitors may park in the underground garage during evenings and weekends.
