Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary
For more than 50 years, the Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary has been
an important arm of the hospital, dedicated to supporting its missions,
contributing funds and raising awareness of health issues in the greater
New Haven community. Members are men and woman from all walks of life
who participate in Auxiliary activities, attend lectures or simply lend
their support through annual membership dues. For details on membership,

The idea of making contributions of time, ideas and effort has been at the core of the Auxiliary since its inception. In that time, the Auxiliary has donated over $3.5 million towards hospital programs, services and health education in the community. Some major contributions have included a mobile mammography van, a hand-held mammotome, a stem cell pheresis blood warmer and most recently, a donation of $250,000 to the Yale-New Haven Breast Center.
What we do
Health education
The Auxiliary sponsors a series of lectures on health issues given by
noted Yale-New Haven Hospital health care professionals. Members work
to coordinate and staff these events. The lectures are free and open to
the public. Dessert, beverages and free parking are provided. The Auxiliary
Atrium Newsletter lists all upcoming lectures and events. To sign up for

Atrium Gift Shop
The Atrium Gift Shop, conveniently located in the heart of the hospital's York St. entrance, is the Auxiliary's major fundraising source. Members often volunteer in many capacities under the guidance of a professional manager.

In addition to flowers, candy and jewelry, the Atrium Gift Shop offers clothes, toiletries, snacks, cards, balloons and assorted gift items. Flower delivery to patient rooms may also be requested. Outside delivery may be requested for a small fee. Phone orders and all major credit cards are accepted.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday - 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Toy Closets
The Auxiliary's Toy Closets program, founded in 1993 by News Channel 8
Anchorwoman Ann Nyberg, solicits new toy donations and raises money year-round
to keep the Toy Closets at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital well stocked.

Why join?
Auxiliary members can be as active as they like. Some simply receive the Yale-New Haven Hospital Bulletin and Auxiliary newsletter, while others attend meetings, events and lectures, or take part in the programs and events listed above.
