Faculty medical and surgical specialists from Yale-New Haven Hospital respect the primary role of referring physicians in the ongoing management of patient care. Our mission is to address the needs of both referring physicians and their patients in an efficient manner and to provide ongoing clinical data access and communications regarding the patient's condition.

We have created this centralized resource to better serve our referring physicians and their patients. This service center provides:

  • Direct and easy access to specialists
  • A fast and simple transfer process
  • A direct admit process from the referring physician's office
  • Enhanced patient and family satisfaction
  • Open and timely feedback on patient status

Referring physicians will not be responsible for providing insurance information; this process will be managed by Yale-New Haven Hospital. It is also our policy to provide notification of admission and continuing daily communications to referring physicians until the time of discharge.
