Parenting Series/Seminar
Our Parenting class covers basic infant care, including feeding, diapering, swaddling and bathing, infant safety, typical newborn appearance and behavior, methods for soothing a fussy baby and adjusting to life with a new baby. This class is offered as a one-day seminar..

Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group
The Breastfeeding Mothers Support group is a comfortable and supportive place for expectant and new mothers and babies to meet. Meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of every month and are led by a member of our staff. The group is designed to offer mothers the opportunity to talk about their concerns and experiences of breastfeeding their babies.

Breastfeeding Couples Class
Our Breastfeeding Couples Class is a two-hour session for expectant and new parents. Learn the basics of breastfeeding, including proper latch-on, infant feeding cues, positioning and how to establish a good milk supply. Your instructor will also provide information on renting or purchasing breast pumps and nursing bras.

Sibling Class
Getting your child ready to be the "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" isn't always easy. This unique popular class for children of any age can help. It also includes an introduction to the hospital.

Maternity Tour
We will take you on a one-hour guided educational tour which will include admission, labor and birth, postpartum and discharge. You will also have the opportunity to complete your pre-admission paperwork. Schedule the tour at least two to three months before the due date. The tour is free.

Dogs & Storks
This highly endorsed program is a must for new and expectant families with dogs. Dogs & Storks was created to provide families and professionals with the resource to successfully include the dog as the family grows. Topics covered include: getting to know your dog, obedience and training, changes in routine, managing kid and dog zones, preparing for baby, coming home and meeting baby, and ages and stages: what to look out for.

Prepared Cesarean Birth Class
Ourone-day Prepared Cesarean Birth is designed for mothers who will be having planned birth due medical or health-related conditions. It covers preparing for your hospital stay, how cesarean performed, medications, and what to expect following the surgery. Some information on newborns is included, but we strongly recommend that parents-to-be also take our Parenting Class and Breastfeeding Class.

Refresher Class/ Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) Seminar
Women who desire to have a vaginal birth after cesarean should prepare for a successful labor. In addition to attending the Refresher Class, (Search for: Refresher) this class is offered to discuss the benefits, risks and decision-making around VBAC. This one-time, 2½ hour class is designed for parents who have previously attended childbirth classes. It covers information about the changes in the course of labor and birth that parents may encounter. Relaxation and all breathing exercises through pushing positions and techniques are covered. The class also includes a labor rehearsal, short tour of our maternity facilities and a discussion about sibling preparation. Register for our Refresher Class, and you'll get our Sibling Class for half price.

eLearning Childbirth Preparation
We offer patients eLearning Childbirth Education classes through our partners at Gift of Motherhood. Convenient, interactive and easy-our eLearning program a great alternative for expectant parents who cannot attend a conventional class due to bed rest, scheduling conflicts or time constraints. It is also a useful refresher course for repeat parents. The program is Web-based and features illustrations, videos, voiceovers and games. Your registration fee includes:
- An access code, good for 35 days beginning from the date of your initial use
- An accompanying parent's handbook
- A tour of the maternity unit at Yale-New Haven Hospital
- The opportunity to email your questions one of our certified childbirth experts via email with your questions
