Treatment

Patients treated at Yale-New Haven for movement disorders benefit from the expertise of our movement disorders specialists and receive state-of-the-art treatment in a nurturing environment that emphasizes a collaborative approach to care. Our patients receive advanced diagnostic and treatment options, including an innovative surgical procedure called deep brain stimulation (DBS), for refractory symptoms of Parkinson's disease, essential tremor and dystonias.

We also have years of botulinum toxin experience, for treatment of a variety of movement disorders, spasticity (secondary to stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy or trauma), and pain.

Yale-New Haven, fellowship-trained physicians determine whether Botox® is an appropriate treatment. If so, a treatment appointment will be scheduled during which the procedure will be re-explained and questions/concerns addressed.
