CT Scan

CT or "Cat" scan is a method of viewing the body's internal structures without surgery. Using radiation to produce data and a computer to reconstruct images, physicians can view internal organs in "slices."

CT at Yale-New Haven Hospital can be performed on patients who have been admitted to the hospital, patients who enter through the Emergency Department or on an outpatient basis. Outpatient appointments for CT at Yale-New Haven Hospital can be made by physician offices, or by a prescription.

NOTE - All radiology exams and procedures are performed by prescription only. A written physician's order is required in order to schedule an appointment.
