Ultrasound

Ultrasound scans use sound waves instead of radiation to view many areas of the body. It is non-invasive and requires no anesthesia.

Ultrasound at Yale-New Haven Hospital can be performed on patients who have been admitted to the hospital, patients who enter through the Emergency Department or on an outpatient basis.

Outpatient appointments for Genergal Diagnostic Radiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital can be made by physician offices, or by a prescription.

NOTE - - All radiology exams and procedures are performed by prescription only. A written physician's order is required in order to schedule an appointment.
