From the Nurse's Desk
Have a safe winter!
Do you like the winter? Most children enjoy the snow that comes with cold
weather. Building snowmen, skating, skiing and sledding can be great fun.
Afterwards, a cup of hot chocolate tastes really good! Enjoy winter,
but stay safe and healthy. Talk about winter safety with your parents
and read these winter rules together.
- Wear mittens, a coat, hat, and a scarf to keep warm.
- Icy snow for sledding is dangerous. Packed snow is safer.
- Never skate on thin ice. Ask your parents to check if the ice is strong
and safe.
- Throwing snowballs is fun--but no ice balls. They can hurt someone.
- Encourage all your friends to be safe.
- Remember: sidewalks can be icy. Walk slowly.
Activity
Have your family make a list of rules using winter words like SKATE or
SLEDDING. It's a fun way to learn about winter safety.
