71 Yale-New Haven Hospital physicians among New York Magazine's "best doctors"
New York Magazine recently named 71 Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) physicians among the best in the New York metropolitan area in its 11th annual “Best Doctors” issue. The YNHH doctors, who provide a wide range of specialties, were selected from more than 6,000 physicians in the greater New York metropolitan area.
Spanning 64 areas of expertise, from adolescent medicine to vascular surgery, the “best doctors” issue serves as a guide for patients seeking the best in medical care. To compile the list, New York collaborated with Castle Connolly Medical, a research and publishing company. Thousands of top physicians in the New York area completed a survey that asked them to nominate top doctors in almost every specialty. Castle Connolly then refined the list based on hundreds of interviews with leading specialists, chiefs of service and other hospital personnel, and published a guidebook, Top Doctors: New York Metro Area. The magazine list is a shorter version, designed to offer geographic balance for the magazine's readership and a broad specialty representation.
