NEW HAVEN — Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven will present the eighth annual oncology nursing conference on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Study at Yale, 1157 Chapel Street, in New Haven.
The title of this year's conference is "Challenges in Oncology Nursing Practice." Conference topics include depression assessment and psychosocial interventions for cancer survivors and their partners, compassion fatigue in nurses, legal issues confronting nurses and management of skin reactions associated with epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors.
Registrants are invited to attend a reception at Smilow Cancer Hospital on Friday, September 25, from 5-7 pm, and to hear Deborah Boyle, RN, MSN, program leader for geriatric oncology and survivorship nursing studies at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, who will speak about "Oncology Nursing in 2025."
The conference, which offers continuing education credits, is open to caregivers throughout the state who care for cancer patients in any practice setting. The cost is $75, which includes breakfast, lunch and a syllabus. Registration is required.
