Tommy Fund radiothon to air on WPLR 99.1 FM, Aug. 5 & 6

Tommy FundNEW HAVEN — The Tommy Fund at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital will conduct a two-day radiothon on Wednesday, Aug. 5, and Thursday, Aug. 6, to raise resources and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer.

The second annual Tommy Fund radiothon will be broadcast live on WPLR 99.1 FM radio from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m on Wednesday, August 5 and from 5 a.m to 10 a.m on Thursday, August 6. During those hours, listeners may call 877.878.6669 or 877.87-TOMMY. to donate to the fund, which supports children with cancer and their families and works to improve the cure rate of childhood cancer.

The Tommy Fund acts as a helping hand to the pediatric oncology department at Yale- New Haven Children's Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. Through collaborative efforts, they are able to diagnose and provide treatment to children with blood disorders and malignancies and conduct research and teaching in the field of childhood cancer.

Volunteers are still needed to answer telephones, record pledges, tally the funds raised, and serve as runners for various tasks. Day and evening volunteer shifts are available. For more information, call 203.688.4081 or 800.974.5559 or visit www.tommyfund.org.
