For the third year in a row, U.S.News & World Report has named Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) to its Honor Roll as one of the nation's top hospitals. YNHH ranked 17th in the United States according to the publication's annual "America's Best Hospitals" rankings in the August 2009 issue. Yale-New Haven Hospital is the only hospital in Connecticut and one of only three hospitals in New England to receive the "Honor Roll" designation.
In addition to the honor roll distinction as one of the best U.S. hospitals, Yale-New Haven was ranked among the very best in the nation in 12 of the 16 medical specialties considered: cancer; ear, nose and throat; diabetes and endocrine disorders; digestive disorders; geriatric care; gynecology; heart and heart surgery; kidney disorders; neurology and neurosurgery; psychiatry; respiratory disorders; and urology.

Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) were recently awarded the prestigious American Diabetes Association (ADA) Education Recognition Certificate for quality diabetes self-management education programs. To earn this distinction, Yale-New Haven Hospital, part of the Yale New Haven Health System comprised of Bridgeport, Greenwich and Yale-New Haven hospitals, voluntarily submitted to a rigorous review process conducted by experts in the field of diabetes. YNHHS was evaluated for its ability to provide patients with a comprehensive, individualized outpatient education program as part of their diabetes treatment.

For the ninth year, Yale-New Haven Hospital has been selected a Most Wired award winner by Hospitals and Health Networks, a trade magazine published by the American Hospital Association. YNHH, along with Bridgeport and Greenwich Hospitals, all members of the Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS), received this honor. This marks the fifth consecutive year that all three YNHHS hospitals were selected. In addition, YNHH was also selected for the fifth year as a Most Wireless award winner, having won in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
