Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy

Orthopedic-related physical and occupational therapy services for the management of acute injuries, pain and functional limitations resulting from the following conditions:
- Neck, middle and low back pain/injury
- Upper and lower extremity pain/injury
- Sports injuries
- Carpal tunnel and arthritis
- Pre- and post-surgical evaluation and treatment for ACL repair, total joint replacement , back and neck surgery
Additional services include:
- Individualized evaluation and treatment plans
- Private treatment rooms
- Biodex system orthopedic testing and rehabilitation
- Balance system testing and training
- Hand therapy/custom splinting
- Upper body cycle
- Education and instruction of home programs

Outpatient Adult Physical Therapy
Provided at Yale Physicians Building
Through our Outpatient Adult Physical Therapy services, we offer a full spectrum of primarily orthopedic-related physical therapy, including:
- Neck, middle and low back pain/injury
- Upper and lower extremity pain
- Sports injuries
- Hand therapy/custom splinting for carpal tunnel, post-surgical conditions and arthritis
- Pre- and post-surgical evaluation and treatment for ACL repair, total joint replacement and back and neck surgery

Outpatient Oncology Physical Therapy
Provided at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven
We provide physical therapy to patients with musculo-skeletal or lymphatic conditions related to their cancer. Our services include:
- Lymphedema/decongestive physical therapy
- Pre-operative assessments
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Perometer computerized measurement of limb volume

Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation
Provided at the comprehensive Pediatric Specialty Center at One Long Wharf
Through our Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation services, we provide physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology services to infants, children and young adults.

Where to Find Us
Patients recovering from surgery, injury, illness, or undergoing treatment for complex medical conditions at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven, and Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, receive inpatient rehabilitation according to their individual needs.
