Adolescent Day Hospital

This is a "partial hospitalization" program for adolescents who require intensive, multidisciplinary treatment but do not require hospitalization. Treatment includes intensive group, family and individual therapies. Connections are maintained with the child's school and other social supports. Hours are 1-5 p.m. weekdays. Families and other members also attend a weekly family support group. The proram helps the family plan and prepare for discharge by securing ongoing therapy and community services, and also acts as a liaison with the school and other social supports. Children's Day Hospital

This program offers "partial hospitalization" for children ages 4 to 12 who need intense, multidisciplinary treatment but do not require hospitalization. Treatment includes intensive group, family and individual therapies. The Children's Day Hospital helps the family plan and prepare for discharge by securing ongoing therapy and community services, and also acts as a liaison with the school and other social supports. Branford Adolescent Day Hospital

Yale-New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus also provides outpatient therapy for adolescents ages 12-18 through the Adolescent Day Hospital program in Branford. The facility serves the East Shore and surrounding communities offering group, family and individual therapy over a 6-8 week period.The Branford Adolescent Day Hospital is at 21 Business Park Road, Branford. Extended Day Treatment

EDT is a step down on the continuum of care from the Partial and Intensive Outpatient Programs, but offers similarly comprehensive services delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals. EDT is licensed by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). EDT is a structured, community-based behavioral health program for youth ages 11 to 17 with psychiatric conditions. Treatments include psycho-educational groups and family therapy. Individualized treatment planning targets the specific needs of children and families and is achieved through ongoing psychiatric evaluation, case-management interventions and medication management. Participants attend EDT two to five times a week depending on level of need and treatment plan. The program runs 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and standard length of stay in the program is three to six months.

Child and Adolescent Mobile Psychiatric Services

This service offers in-home, community-based crisis intervention to children and adolescents, ages 3 to 17, and their families. Phone: 203.789.5969.
