About the Center

History

In 1997, Yale-New Haven Hospital was designated by the State of Connecticut and verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Trauma Center. In subsequent years, the YNHH Trauma Center has continued to provide high quality care to the injured patient. In 2000 we were re-verified as a Level I Adult Trauma Center with Pediatric commitment. In 2007 we were once again re-verified, this time as both an Adult and Pediatric Level I Trauma Center.
