Important Notice About Visiting
If you have been exposed to an infectious disease like chicken pox, tuberculosis, measles, mumps, pneumonia or the flu, please refrain from visiting or speak with the patient's nurse before visiting the hospital.
Yale-New Haven Hospital welcomes and encourages family and friends to visit patients. In fact, we believe that spending time with loved ones is a powerful part of the healing process.
For the safety of our patients, their caregivers and visitors, we ask you to limit visits to the hours specified below. Times and rules vary depending on the floor or unit you are visiting.
Friends and relatives may call the hospital's patient information line at 203.688.4177 at any time to find out a patient's room and telephone number.
Visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Some specialty units have policies that differ; check with a member of the patient's care team for more information.
Children are welcome during visiting hours. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by a non-patient adult who is at least 18 years old and are expected to remain with the adult who is supervising them. Children between the ages of 14 and 16 may visit unaccompanied by an adult with prior permission from the charge nurse or a designee.
Yale-New Haven Hospital does not restrict, limit or otherwise deny visitation privileges on the basis of disability, race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. Same-sex couples are afforded the same access as different-sex couples and next-of-kin.
