My job at Yale-New Haven
I am an employee in the department
of Diagnostic Imaging, and I love my job here at Yale-New Haven.
As a transporter, I am responsible
for getting inpatients to their scheduled appointments in a timely fashion.
When I arrive at the patients room, I knock before entering and
upon entrance I introduce myself. I try to make them feel as comfortable
as possible. As we are on our way to their appointments, many of them
will begin to tell me about their sickness. After patiently listening
to their stories, I then tell them about our services here at Yale-New
Haven and the competency of the doctors and how they will do all that
they can to help them with a speedy recovery. Many times they begin to
cry, and I try to encourage them and tell them God can heal them and that
God loves them, and usually by the time we reach their destination they
have stopped crying.
It makes my day to feel like
I have done a good deed for someone, and that is why I love my job!
