The Friends Board plans, develops and runs several fundraising events each year, such as the Golf & Tennis Tournament, the “Festival of Great Cars and Fine Food” car rally and Long Wharf Theatre events to raise much needed funds for various programs and services at the Hospital.

Golf and Tennis Open...a Huge Success!

The weather was picture perfect on July 30th, a good omen for the 21st annual Golf and Tennis Open held at the New Haven Country Club. This event is one of largest fundraisers held by the Friend's of Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. The funds that are raised, go toward our goal of improving the health and well being of pediatric patients and their families.  Most recently, funds have been directed to the purchase of MRI goggles and Pediatric Heart Monitors The MRI goggles help reduce the need for anesthesia for children who need to undergo multiple MRIs. The Pediatric Heart Monitors, which are portable, allow children to rest at home in between surgeries while still being closely monitored.

We are grateful to this year’s lead sponsors – Yale New Haven Health System and ZMedica as well as, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Fresenius, Unitex Rental Services and Aon Risk Management for their support. In addition, we were proud to honor Slocum & Sons who have been longtime supporters of our fundraising events.
