Adolescent Medicine

Adolescent Medicine provides a comprehensive array of clinical services for adolescents and young adults, age 11-21 years. 

Adolescent Medicine

Our specially trained physicians evaluate and manage complex medical issues in adolescents, pre-teens and young adults, specifically in the areas of:

  • Eating disorders: anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa
  • Problems of normal growth and development
  • Menstrual disorders and gynecological problems
  • Obesity
  • Complex psychosocial issues, such as family/parenting concerns, and mental health concerns

Patients are seen at the Adolescent Comprehensive Care Clinic located at the Pediatric Specialty Center at One Long Wharf, and the Pediatric Specialty Center at Norwalk.

Adolescent Medicine also provides an inpatient attending service for referral patients from the community, specifically for eating disorders, and a consultation service for any teen and adolescent admitted.

The section also provides primary and acute medical care at the Adolescent Clinic in the Primary Care Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital
