Adolescent Medicine

Our specially trained physicians evaluate and manage complex medical issues in adolescents, pre-teens and young adults, specifically in the areas of:

  • Eating disorders: anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa
  • Problems of normal growth and development
  • Menstrual disorders and gynecological problems
  • Obesity
  • Complex psychosocial issues, such as family/parenting concerns, and mental health concerns

Patients are seen at the Adolescent Comprehensive Care Clinic located at the Pediatric Specialty Center at One Long Wharf, and the Pediatric Specialty Center in Norwalk. Adolescent Medicine also provides primary and acute medical care at the Adolescent Clinic in the Primary Care Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Adolescent Medicine offers an inpatient attending service for referral patients from the community, specifically for eating disorders, and a consultation service for any teen or adolescent admitted. We are committed to respecting the privacy and confidentiality of our young adult patients.
