The anesthesiology staff has expertise in caring for patients undergoing advanced minimally invasive surgery, pediatric surgical oncology procedures, and procedures for fetal congenital anomalies, trauma surgery, outpatient surgery, cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery. We also have an active acute pain control service.
Our primary mission is to advocate for each child before, during and after a procedure to ensure he or she receives safe, quality and pain-free care. Our anesthesia and pain management service cares for children both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Whenever possible, complementary and alternative therapies are used to enhance pain management and palliative care.
Our care team consists of physicians and nurses who work in consultation with child life specialists to provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to pain management. Dedicated operating rooms, presurgical evaluation areas and post anesthesia care units allow the care teams to more effectively address both the medical, emotional needs of children and their parents.
