What to Expect

When a child is seriously ill, the issues are far more complex than with an adult. So too is the degree of specialization needed to make your child well again. At Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, providing quality, expert, innovative care is one of the many reasons we are consistently recognized for being at the forefront of pediatric care among the nation's best children's hospitals.

Preparing for Your Child's Hospital Visit

On the day of surgery, you should arrive at the hospital one hour before the procedure. Valet parking is available for pediatric outpatient surgery patients and is free on the day of surgery only. There is a charge at other times. Families bringing children for inpatient surgery may also use valet parking, but there is a fee. The Pediatric Surgery Center is on the third floor of the Children's Hospital.
