In addition to our four inpatient services focusing on general adult, dual diagnosis, adolescent and geriatric psychiatric services, we offer electroconvulsive therapy and two intensive outpatient programs. Children under the age of 13 requiring psychiatric care are usually referred to Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. Our goal is to provide outstanding and expert care to individuals and enable them to return to their communities as soon and as safely as possible.
Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital is affiliated with Yale School of Medicine's (YSM) Department of Psychiatry. All of our medical staff physicians are affiliated faculty of YSM and frequently participate in and lead research efforts in areas such as hallucinations, Alzheimer's disease, perinatal and post-partum mood disorders, mood disorders, and mental illness in primary care and other medical and surgical treatment settings. YNHPH is also a primary residency teaching site of YSM's Department of Psychiatry, allowing us to train the next generation of skilled psychiatrists and physician leaders.
For more information or to refer a patient to YNHPH, please call our Admissions Office at 203.688.9907 or send an email.
