Eight Yale New Haven Children’s subspecialties achieve national recognition from U.S. News & World Report

Diabetes and endocrine service ranked 4th in the nation

New Haven, CT—June 27, 2017– Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital has been ranked among the best in the nation for eight of its pediatric subspecialties in the 2017 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, published online by U.S. News & World Report. YNHCH ranked in cancer (#28); cardiology and heart surgery (#42); diabetes and endocrinology (#4); gastroenterology (#32); neonatology (#29); neurology and neurosurgery (#38) pulmonology (#39) and urology (#45). The rankings for cardiology and heart as well as urology are for joint programs shared with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital is a national leader in pediatric care with campuses in New Haven and Bridgeport. The network of seven Pediatric Specialty Centers across the region provides access to more than 35 pediatric medical, surgical and behavioral subspecialties. The centers include: West Pavilion 2, Smilow 7 and One Long Wharf in New Haven; 747 Belden Avenue in Norwalk; 5 Perryridge Road in Greenwich; 633 Middlesex Turnpike in Old Saybrook and 5520 Park Avenue in Trumbull.

Yale New Haven Children's Hospital (YNHCH) offers Connecticut's largest and most comprehensive array of maternity and pediatric services. With 213 beds, YNHCH includes neonatal intensive care units, a pediatric intensive care unit, a 24-hour pediatric emergency room and a pediatric surgery center. YNHCH, with campuses in New Haven and Bridgeport, is part of the nationally recognized Yale New Haven Hospital, a 1,541-bed not-for-profit teaching hospital affiliated with Yale School of Medicine. YNHH's York Street campus and associated ambulatory sites are Magnet-designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In addition to its inpatient units, YNHCH has two Pediatric Specialty Centers in New Haven and others in Norwalk, Greenwich and Trumbull to provide specialty care to children closer to their communities.
