Critical Care Transport Paramedic Course
The CCT Paramedic course offered by Yale New Haven Hospital Center for EMS is designed to provide paramedics with advanced training, skills and knowledge required to manage patients who are receiving some form of intensive or critical medical treatment during transport. Specifically, these students will learn advanced assessment techniques, more detailed knowledge of physiology and pathological processes and to learn how to operate and manage a variety of critical care equipment. The course consists of 112 hours of didactic classroom training as well as 96 hours in clinical rotations.
As CCT-Paramedics, their primary role will be in the inter-facility transport of patients who require and/or are dependent on some form of already established critical care and treatment. Students in the course are already licensed paramedics and generally have a minimum of two years experience working in the Emergency Medical Field. Upon completion of both didactic education and clinical rotations, the students will be allowed to test with the Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification.
Tuition and Enrollment
Tuition for the CCT-Paramedic course is $1200 which includes text books. It does not, however, cover the cost to test with the certification. For more information on upcoming classes and to enroll, email Leonard Guercia.
