Yale New Haven Hospital once again achieves Magnet® Designation

Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) has once again achieved the prestigious Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), placing it among the approximately seven percent of the more than 5,600 hospitals nationwide – and one of only six in Connecticut – to achieve this distinguished honor. YNHH received the Magnet designation for the first time on May 25, 2011. Yale New Haven is the largest hospital in Connecticut to achieve Magnet.


Charles S. Fuchs to lead Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital

After an extensive national search, Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven and Yale Cancer Center (YCC) have announced that Charles S. Fuchs, MD, MPH, will become the new YCC director and physician-in-chief at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, effective Jan. 1, 2017.

Yale New Haven Health, L+M Healthcare affiliation receives full approval

The affiliation of L+M Healthcare and Yale New Haven Health was fully approved today by the State of Connecticut’s Office of Healthcare Access (OHCA). The parties received regulatory approval from all State of Rhode Island agencies last week and the Federal Trade Commission last year.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) today announced that it has selected Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven/Yale Cancer Center as one of nearly 200 physician group practices and 17 health insurance companies to participate in a care delivery model that supports and encourages higher quality, more coordinated cancer care.
