Michelle Silasi, MD, a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, cares for women managing autoimmune diseases, hypertension, lupus, renal disease and thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy. While such conditions add complexity during a woman’s pregnancy, Dr. Silasi says she enjoys her work most when she takes care of high-risk patients.
“I have always been fascinated by pregnancy,” Dr. Silasi says, “especially when
one considers all of the components at the cellular level that are needed for a successful pregnancy.”
Dr. Silasi is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at Yale School of Medicine.
