Flower Box Committee leaves lasting impression on patients, visitors

The Auxiliary’s Flower Box Committee has a wonderful history of partnering with local garden clubs to create a cheerful environment for patients, according to Committee Chair Edie Kufta.

Up until the last year, this involved collaborating with the New Haven and Woodbridge garden clubs each season to fill flower boxes in an outdoor space on the seventh floor of the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. Earlier this year, when the space was converted to another patient care use, the Garden Club of New Haven used its talents to plant flowers and plants outside of the Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital’s Liberty Street location. Patients and their families now enjoy the greenery and blossoms there.
