Wine event grows membership

Spring is all about growth, so it was a perfect time for the Auxiliary to host a membership event. This year’s festivities included a wine tasting with an international flair.
In addition to sampling wines from the U.S. and around the world, attendees received “passports” to “travel” to tables representing different wine-producing areas and Auxiliary committees. At each stop, they had the opportunity to learn about the work of each committee, speak with committee members, and have their “passports stamped.” Filled passports were entered into prize drawings.
The event was held at the Owenego Inn in Branford. Michael Dimenstein, vice president, System Compensation and Benefits, Yale New Haven Health, welcomed the group. Live music, great food, and the beautiful venue overlooking Long Island Sound added to the wonderful evening.
“Our goal was to attract new members to the Auxiliary,” said Peggy DeZinno, committee chair. “We showcased our activities and areas of focus so guests could see the work supported through being a member, and perhaps get involved with a specific committee.” The successful event saw an increase in participation from the prior year, and also resulted in 13 new Auxiliary members.
