The Glass Door Gift Shop

In the 1960s, the Saint Raphael Auxiliary opened a gift shop to serve patients, families and staff and to raise money to support the hospital. Over the years, hundreds of volunteers dedicated thousands of hours to waiting on customers and boosting sales. Currently more than 24 volunteers, working four-hour shifts, assist Glass Door Gift Shop manager Linda Lake. The volunteers pride themselves on customer service and loyalty to their job. They love working there and love supporting the hospital.

When Linda started her career at the gift shop in 2010, she set out to make the shop more trendy, fun, upbeat and appealing. A former interior designer, Linda owned her own business for 20 years. Her keen sense of design and merchandising has helped increase sales.

Located in the lobby, the gift shop is open 7 days a week and offers payroll deduction and lay-a-way for employees. Proceeds from the Glass Door Gift Shop support Auxiliary programs designed to help patients; last year, the Glass Door Gift Shop contributed $75,000 toward the Auxiliary's gift to the hospital.
