Health education committee continues lecture series in 2015

The Auxiliary’s Health Education committee held two free educational programs last fall and one in March. In October, Nina Horowitz, MD, discussed the risks and rewards of treatment options for breast cancer, and in November, David Hesse, MD, discussed geriatric urology. In March, Liane Philpotts, MD, YNHH Chief of Breast Imaging, presented on tomosynthesis (3D mammography). Above, at the October lecture, were (from left) Alyce Block; Annemarie Lindskog; Sylvia Greene; Sally Howell; Nina Horowitz, MD; Gay Steinbach; and Beverly Lewis.

Upcoming Health education lectures include “The Aging Eye,” a lecture and panel discussion with Christopher Teng, MD; Jessica S. Maslin, MD; and Nisha Chadha, MD. The discussion will be held at 7:30 pm on April 16 at Whitney Center, 200 Leeder Hill Drive, Hamden. Dr. Teng will discuss glaucoma, Dr. Maslin will talk about dry eyes and Dr. Chadha will discuss the retina, all in the context of the aging eye. Light refreshments will be served. Thank you to Bev Lewis and Gay Steinbach for coordinating the lectures.
