With his reindeer resting up for Christmas Eve, Santa enlisted the help of the New Haven Fire Department to make his rounds at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital Dec. 22. Understanding the importance of social distancing, St. Nick and the firefighters found a safe way to spread good cheer to young patients, their family members and hospital staff. While Santa was out delivering gifts Christmas Eve, the New Haven Police Department made their hospital rounds, with a police cruiser parade outside YNHCH. Lights flashing, the officers slowed down to exchange waves with patients, families and staff. Thank you to these first responders for the work they do every day, and their extra efforts to support the hospital.
