YNHH offers accommodations, groceries and other services for front-line staff

Yale New Haven is providing services and accommodations to help front-line staff during COVID-19, including:

  • Accommodations: Rooms at certain hotels near the hospital and Yale University are available for asymptomatic, front-line employees with high-risk family members at home. See your manager for details and an accommodation request form.

  • Showers: Available for all employees at the livingwell Fitness Center, 48 York St., New Haven. Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 - 8:30 am; 3 - 4:30 pm; 7 - 8:30 pm; and 11 pm - 12:30 am. Employees must use their YNHH, Yale University or Yale School of Medicine ID badge to enter; bring their own toiletries and towel; and bring a bag to take home removed garments and used towel.

  • Groceries: Morrison Healthcare, YNHH’s food and nutrition services vendor, is taking orders for basic items and pre-made meals. Pre-order forms are available in the York Street Campus East Pavilion cafeteria and Saint Raphael Campus cafeteria and can be downloaded from this article on the YNHH employee intranet. Orders may be picked up at the cafeterias.

  • Child care: Connecticut’s Office of Early Childhood is providing free enrollment for healthcare workers’ children at sites throughout the state (priority is given to children of front-line healthcare workers and all essential staff, particularly those in financial need). For information, call Lynn Wiener at YNHH, 203-605-0421, or the state’s dedicated number, 860-756-0864.
