This senior VP took a break from leading, because, you see, he knows the value of reading

Kevin Myatt wears many hats in his role as senior vice president and chief human resources officer of Yale New Haven Health System, but on March 2, in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, he donned a special chapeau to read Green Eggs and Ham to children at New Haven's Strong School. Myatt was among many guest readers from Yale New Haven Hospital and throughout the community who participated in Read Across America Day to encourage children to keep reading and learning.

YNHH hosting Take Your Child to Work Day

Yale New Haven's 12th annual Take Your Child to Work (TYCTW) Day will be Thursday, April 23 at the York Street and Saint Raphael campuses. Registration forms for each location will be available Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 17 on the YNHH employee intranet. The event is limited to YNHH employees' children ages 8 to 14. Enrollment is first-come, first-served. At the YSC, TYCTW Day will have two sessions: 8:30 am-noon and 1-4:30 pm. The SRC will also hold two sessions: 8:30-11:30 am and 1-4 pm. Parents may apply for either session on either campus for their child. During last year's TYCTW Day, Alessandro Caruso, son of Joe Caruso, director, Real Estate and Housing, and Ayla Sivri, daughter of Nancy Sivri, RN, Heart and Vascular Center, enjoyed being shaken around a little when they tried on chest percussion vests in Respiratory Therapy with Carmen Evans, respiratory therapist.

New and improved serving area opens in SRC cafeteria

On Feb. 24, Food and Nutrition officially opened a newly renovated, spacious serving area at the Saint Raphael Campus that includes special features like a pizza oven. Renovations to the cafeteria seating area are expected to be complete in spring. Hospital administrative leaders joined Food and Nutrition staff in a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening.
