YNHH employees asked to join May 4 Heart Walk

The Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) invites employees to join one of YNHH’s walk teams at the American Heart Association’s 32nd Annual Greater New Haven Heart Walk, 9 am Saturday, May 4, Savin Rock, West Haven. Event is rain or shine.

Kick-off meetings for employees interested in leading a team will be noon - 1 pm Wednesday, March 6, YSC East Pavilion special events area; and noon - 1 pm Friday, March 8, SRC Selina Lewis multipurpose room. Lunch will be provided. Speakers will be Keith Churchwell, MD, senior vice president, Operations, and executive director, HVC and Transplantation Center and clinical service coordinator, Internal Medicine; and Francine LoRusso, RN, vice president, HVC, Transplantation Center and Medicine Services. Heart Walk co-chair is Eric J. Velazquez, MD, chief, Cardiovascular Medicine, HVC.

Yale New Haven Health HVC is a walk sponsor and, with Yale University, Yale School of Medicine and Northeast Medical Group, has set a $70,000 fundraising goal. The event will feature kids’ activities, health screenings and information, healthy snacks and lunch. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Yale New Haven Health participants will each receive a T-shirt.
