In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the civil rights leader's legacy of community service, YNHH Food and Nutrition Services employees collected socks, hats and gloves for children being discharged from Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Many YNHCH patients are admitted from the Emergency Department or transferred from another facility and do not have appropriate cold-weather wear with them. Employees collected hundreds of items for children of all ages, from newborns through teens. Pictured with the donations are, first row (l-r): Agatha Williams, director, Food and Nutrition; Traci Heard, RN, Pediatric Short Stay Unit (SP 7-4); Toni Michelangelo and Debra McCrea, Food and Nutrition. Second row are: Tina Onofrio, Sheila Kindred and Wanda Knox, Food and Nutrition; and back row: Heather Parrott, RN, Pediatric Short Stay; and William Vaught, Terrell James, Gerardo Castro and Eduardo Ortega, Food and Nutrition.
