Ambulatory Services

Yale New Haven Hospital offers outpatient medical services including surgery, gastrointestinal procedures, radiology, and sub-acute care. These medical services, which do not require a hospital admission, are located at the main hospital and at convenient sites in the greater New Haven area. Each of these sites provides multiple services and comprehensive care for patients, from pre-screening to post-operative skilled nursing care.

Yale New Haven Hospital provides a wide range of outpatient (same-day) services at our main campuses in New Haven. These services include gastrointestinal; gynecologic; cancer; heart and vascular; blood draw stations; and diagnostic radiology service (imaging) procedures. Your caregiver will provide you with information about your procedure, including whether or not it is available on an outpatient basis. On the Saint Raphael Campus, the Cronin Short-Term Surgery Unit is specially designed for patients who have outpatient surgery.
